July 16, 2021 - Special announcement for St. Michael's parishioners
Dear Fellow Parishioners,
We are getting closer to the return of what was our norm Pre- Covid! As of July 17, 2021 at 12:01 AM, new health orders take effect. Below you will find a brief statement of how the new orders will affect St. Michael's as a parish community. For a more detailed summary, you can visit the Archdiocese website or simply go on to St. Michael's website and links have been provided to both the Government of Manitoba and the Archdiocese of St. Boniface sites.
COVID-19 Health Measures and Protocols for Religious Services July 15, 2021
Outdoor services do not require masks, provided that proper social distancing, and hand sanitizing measures are followed.
Indoors, the congregation must wear masks at all times. The liturgical team (presider, deacon, lector, altar server, cantor and musician) need not wear masks when reading, reciting prayer, or singing. Cantors or leaders of song are required to position themselves at least 20 feet away from others.
Our church capacity for indoor religious services is now 50% or 150 people whichever is less. Our allocation is 150 people. Registration is no longer required to attend mass. Masks are to be worn at all times for all, aged 5 and over, when in church with the exceptions as noted above and when receiving communion.
Hand sanitizing measures and signing in are still required.
Please continue to pray that Manitoba continues to move in the right direction against the battle of Covid - 19. We are looking forward to being able to worship in person as a parish community. For those unable to join us in person for mass, live streaming will continue for both Thursday and Sunday masses.
My dear friends in Christ
Keep safe and stay healthy.
Fr. Sylvanus, Administration Board and Parish Pastoral Council of St. Michael's.
